Pagan Rome before Christianity
1.The priesthoods of public religion were held by members of the elite classes.
2. Religion depended on knowledge and the correct practice of prayer, ritual, and sacrifice, not on faith or dogma. To the Romans, religion was less a spiritual experience than a contractual relationship between mankind and the forces which were believed to control people's existence and well-being.
3.Rome imported mystery religions and their policy in general was to absorb the deities and cults of other peoples rather than try to eradicate them.
4. To Rome, tradition was the fabric of social stability. Rome incorporated diverse peoples by supporting their religious heritage, building temples to local deities that framed their theology within the hierarchy of Roman religion.
5. Statues of the gods were erected, these gods resided in the object being honored.
6. Different deities protected different peoples
7. The head of one religion was the representative of the god Dagon. He was the Father of Baal. Considered to be infallible he was the chief God of the Philistines and was addressed as "Your Holiness." The Canaanites imported Dagon from Babylonia. Nations subdued by Babylon had to kiss the ring and slipper of the Babylonian god-king. The fish head mitre and robes were worn by the priests of Dagon. Dagon is mentioned in passages such as Judges 16:23-24, I Samuel 5, and I Chronicles 10:10. Dagon was believed to be part human part fish.
8 The Milk Grotto pagan belief that the breasts of the goddess nurtures the world. This formed a prominent part of the goddess cult, goddesses often being depicted with many breasts to nurture.
9 Babylonia sun God worship. Nimrod established the first post-flood empire. Semiranmis, queen of Babylon, after her husband's Nimrod's death, was found to be with child. It was declared that this child was the product of divine conception. In the Bible it is rendered "Tammuz" and the women weeping for Tammuz and the sun worship going on in Israel was an abomination Ezekiel 8. Then In Jeremiah 7:18 Israel was making cakes to offer the queen of heaven, which was the wife of Nimrod. The holy day was Sunday- to the sun god.
10. The Babylon mystery religion was based on Semiramis claimed that her son, Tammuz was supernaturally conceived. She declared that she had been visited by the spirit of Nimrod, who left her pregnant with the boy and that he was the promised seed, the “savior” that was promised by God in Genesis 3:15. However, not only was the child worshiped, but his mother was also worshiped as much (or more) than the son. Nimrod was deified as the god of the sun and father of creation, while Semiramis became the goddess of the moon and fertility. In the old fables of the Mystery cults, their savior Tammuz, was worshiped with various rites at the Spring season.According to the legends, after he was killed by a wild boar, he went into the underworld. But through the weeping of his mother, he mystically revived in the springing forth of the vegetation. As men were scattered over the face of the earth speaking different languages, they continued in their worship of the sun, moon and other heavenly bodies. Therefore, the same mythical gods and goddesses they worshiped were called by different names based upon the language that was spoken.
11. Mithraism was also a part of the sun-god worship. Depending on the ancient belief of the absorbed religions of other cultures, they were all basically the same only with different names, and a few extras added in. It was always the worship of the Sun, moon and planets and stars- in every culture.
Pagan Rome after Christianity
Constantine became the first emperor to favor Christianity, but unlike other religions Christianity is NOT a state religion. By creating a new state religion Rome has admittedly changed the face of the old system, dressing it up in christian garb and slapped on the name. Virtually all of the elements of the Catholic ritual, from miter to wafer to altar to doxology, are directly taken from earlier Pagan mystery religions.
Christians are converted into Christianity by a "new-birth" through Christ, not in outward religious rites. It's a conversion of individuals, that makes one a Christian, and this cannot be sanctioned by any state.
Rome just added a new face to paganism and did what she normally had done in the past, she absorbed Christianity by replacing the pagan mother goddess, or queen of heaven with Mary the mother of Jesus. The pagans didn't change, they just continued their prayers and devotion to the mother goddess Mary. This is why Roman Catholicism worships the mother as much or more than her son because the pagans did the same. Also this is why if you ask a Catholic anything, they will defend their church by stating tradition is just as important as the Word of God, because pagan Rome did the same.
Part of the goddess cult and the milk grotto
"The sinner that ventures directly to Christ may come with dread and apprehension of his wrath; but let him only employ the mediation of the Virgin with her Son and she has only to show that Son the breasts that gave him suck and his wrath will immediately be appeased" Roman Catholic dogma (July 1856):
It is well known that Catholic revere statues of dead saints and Mary- this has always gone on, even under pagan Rome, so one should not be surprised, because there is no such thing as a state religion.
Rome is anything BUT a Holy City, and since Rome is the only entity that has survived through the ages, she is the only one that fits the description of the MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.- Because she imported mystery religions- and attempted to Christianize a whole state and forced her will upon millions of others, she is guilty of persecution of the saints of God, who would not bow to her, and they paid with their lives.
We sometimes forget that when Nimrod was around and his wife- these religions were created. Partly out of wrath for what God had done to their forefathers in a flood, and to pervert what they may have been taught by Noah, of a coming redeemer Genesis 3:15.
Noah would have been well acquainted with the past and the present ramblings of Nimrod's wife- It would have been Noah and his sons that would know the details of the world before the flood and no one else. We just automatically assume that Noah didn't keep records- but it is obvious they knew how to write due to the Epic of Gilgamesh fiasco.
Noah could have easily kept a record of the past which would have been passed down from Noah to Abraham, since Abraham was 58 when Noah died and that record could have made up some of the detail of Genesis.
It would be unlikely for Noah and his sons to keep information to themselves, but they shared it with their sons and grandsons.
So the fact is everyone would know the story of Noah, since they were all alive at the time
Noah could have kept records to pass down to Abraham- Since Abraham himself came out of this nightmare scenario, being the son of one of these freakish Samaria priests.
After the fall of Babel- the people just took their religions with them, refusing the truth of what Noah would have shared, in some cases even setting up Noah's son's as gods- which makes it interesting because the Son's of Noah are easier to trace, due to their acts.
It's a historic fact that man migrated from Mesopotamia- the Bible fills in the blanks that it was due to men not understanding one another.
It was Israel that through the ages fought against the mystery religion- and sometime falling headlong into following after these false teachings.
Since the ancient world already knew of a coming redeemer that was to be born from the seed of a woman. They would have set up a false religious system perverting everything that God planned. This is why God was so angry with Israel, falling into that pit, because they were the very people God was using to perform his promises.
The Mass is not from the Bible, it has pagan origins. In the Roman Catholic mass, the Eucharist or “host” (the round wafer) is a symbol of the sun. The round disc in the crescent moon was a symbol of ancient Babylon, and is found in all the ancient religions. Unknown in the early church, the mass did not become an official doctrine until pronounced by the Lateran Council of 1215 under the direction of Pope Innocent III.
The Pope lifts up the monstrance an ancient symbol of the sun god, carried by a gold piece formed like the crescent moon. The crescent moon in gold, holds up the round wafer inside the ring. The religious ritual, of the mass is steeped in paganism. Egyptian Mother of gods Isis also holds a wafer or the symbol of the sun in the crescent moon in which became the crescent moon image of Islam. All have their origins in Baal worship. The Pope is dressed just like his predecessor pagans in full Dagon apparel, even with the fish head mitre.
Exodus 20:4-6
“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments
